Community Caring Day Thursday, August 4th

One Community One Heart

Community Caring Day is a program that was started in 1998 by Branson Believers, a group of concerned citizens wishing to help the nonprofit agencies in our area. These are agencies that do much to improve the quality of life for those less fortunate and in need. In 1998, approximately 100 volunteers, sent from businesses in the area went to the agencies and performed a number of tasks that the agencies did not have the manpower or resources to accomplish. The result from this day was nothing short of miraculous.

Our community has had few activities that have been more enthusiastically received than Community Caring Day. Each year the scope of the event widens in area as well as the number and type of projects.

The Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Branson Believers in 2011 in support of their on-going efforts. This year we anticipate needing 250 volunteers to complete all of the projects in locations across Taney and Stone Counties. These projects will range from cleaning, painting, gardening, plumbing, carpentry and more. With the community’s help we can accomplish great things again this year. Community Caring Day is scheduled for Thursday, August 4, 2011. The day will begin with a kick-off breakfast at Branson RecPlex at 7:00 am where enthusiastic volunteers will meet with the representative from their assigned organization. At the job site, volunteers will have the opportunity to meet and work alongside volunteers from other businesses and communities…they have one common bond…to help a not-for-profit organization enhance their ability to serve those in need. Lunch will also be provided.

We hope that many organizations become involved this year to continue this tradition of service.
