The Board of Directors of the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & CVB met Wednesday, August 25, 2021. Chairperson Mary Kellogg called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Sheila Dutton provided the opening prayer.


Review of Minutes – Pam Yancey made a motion to approve the minutes of the July 28, 2021, meeting as presented. Phil Cox seconded the motion. All approved. Motion carried.


Financial Report – Treasurer Yancey reviewed the financial report included with the meeting packet. Cassie Cunningham moved to approve the financial report as presented. Phil Cox seconded the motion. All approved. Motion carried.


Ex-Officio Reports – City of Branson – City Administrator Stan Dobbins reported the Board of Aldermen will review the 2021 budget (add’l dollars received through CARES Act, taxes, etc.) and the 2022 budget at a September study session. He also spoke about infrastructure improvements.


Tourism Community Enhancement District – TCED Chair Derek Smith reported he is excited about the new cooperative program with theaters. Three positions on the Marketing Oversight Committee were renewed. The City of Branson will appoint two individuals to the TCED board soon. The Village of Indian Point will appoint one person.


City of Hollister – City Administrator Rick Ziegenfuss reported Hollister sales tax could set a record next month. It’s estimated the City will receive $926,000 in ARPA funds, which will arrive in two payments.


Elevate Branson – Bryan Stallings provided the history of Elevate Branson. The organization is about empowering people, not providing handouts. He highlighted several of the programs they offer, along with the tiny homes project.


Membership Update – Janet Minor reviewed the report included in the meeting packet. Pam Yancey moved to approve the drop list as presented. Linda Cherry seconded the motion. All approved. Motion carried.


Chairperson’s Report – Chair Kellogg complimented Jonas Arjes for being named one of SBJ’s 12 Men of the Year.


President/CEO Report – Jason Outman reported we are reviewing our membership dues structure. The 2022 budget process begins in September.


10 Year Master Plan – Staff will have a kick-off meeting with MMGY/NextFactor September 2. Stakeholder meetings, focus groups and resident town all meetings will be held in the 10-year master plan process. This should be wrapped up in May 2022.

The White Tie Gala, which is the organization’s 75th Anniversary, is December 10, 6pm at the Branson Convention Center
