The Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors met Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Chair Joe Loth called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Mike Combs provided the opening prayer.
Review of Minutes – Phil Cox moved to approve the minutes of the February 23, 2022, meeting as presented. Mike Combs seconded the motion. All approved. Motion carried.
Financial Report – Treasurer Pam Yancey reviewed the current financials. The report was generated by our new accounting software, which has audit trails built into it. We are now presenting a one-twelfth format and membership revenue will be recorded once it’s been paid instead of billed. Billings to the City of Branson are to start again April 1, per the new contract. Wendy White made a motion to approve the financial report as presented. Cassie Cunningham seconded the motion. All approved. Motion carried.
Ex-Officio Report – Hollister – City Administrator Rick Ziegenfuss reported on Imagine Resort’s progress and his recent “State of the City” address.
Creative/Marketing Update – Chief Marketing Officer Rachel Wood introduced Proof Advertising, the agency who developed our new creative. They reviewed the strategy used to develop the campaigns, which launched March 2. TV, radio and print ads were presented.
Community Marketing Presentation – The event, which was previously held in theaters, will be in our building March 29. Vendors and displays will be located throughout the building. Titanic is the sponsor.
Membership Report – Janet Minor reviewed the report included in the meeting packet. We currently have 768 members. She noted monthly payments are now accepted for renewals, which will be reflected in these reports. Pam Yancey moved to approve the membership drop list as presented. Rob Griffith seconded the motion. All approved. Motion carried.
Chairman’s Report – Chair Joe Loth encouraged all to vote in the upcoming election.
President/CEO Report – President Jason Outman provided an update on the 10-year destination master plan.
Dues Structure Update – We have received, and are reviewing, the first draft from Kyle Sexton. It’s a long process. Sexton will present to the board at a future meeting.
American Quilter’s Society kicked off in Branson this morning. The event is expected to have a large economic impact. Staff has worked to bring AQS here for four years.
We are fully staffed for the first time since pre-pandemic. New staff members are Jarrica Guzman – Event Services Specialist and Stewart Grimm – Sports Sales Manager.

New Business – Jonas Arjes reported Dennis Wiggins joins Taney County Partnership staff April 18 as Business Retention & Expansion Director.
